It's that time of the year again. The festival of colours will be celebrated in Kuala Lumpur at the Shree Lakshmi Narayan Mandir. Mark your dates people!
The address is as follows:
68 Jalan Kasipillay,
off Jalan Ipoh,
51200 Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia.
Last year, CS KL had an awesome outing during Holi; of which it is still talked about until today. It is time to relive that moment again.
What is Holi?
Holi is a religious spring festival celebrated by Hindus. It is primarily observed in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and countries with large Indic Diaspora populations. The festival has many purposes. First and foremost, it celebrates the beginning of the new season, spring. Originally, it was a festival that commemorated good harvests and the fertile land. Hindus believe it is a time of enjoying spring’s abundant colors and saying farewell to winter. It also has a religious purpose, commemorating events present in Hindu mythology. Although it is one of the least religious Hindu festival, it is probably one of the most exhilarating ones in existence. During Holi, participants hold a bonfire, throw colored powder at each other, and celebrate wildly.
